Aliens have landed!
This week the children have shown an interest in Aliens. We read the story ‘Aliens love underpants’ and then had fun putting pants on our heads and moving like aliens to some music. The children enjoyed cutting along zig zags, straight lines and circles on underpants pictures to help with scissor control, whilst others drew their own underpants and pegged them on the washing line. We also went on a walk down the lane to pick blackberries. We had fun mark making with them and making blackberry play dough and pies. Baking rock cakes also proved very popular, as did the eating!
Our letter of the week has been ‘M’ and there is a rhyme we say to help write the letter;
“Down Maisie, up Maisie, over the mountain, over the mountain”
Finally, we have done a lot of Funky Finger activities to strengthen our muscles and flexibility. The children made necklaces, using tweezers as alien claws to pick up pompoms and created their own space stations balancing card strips and paper cups.
