Busy times upstairs in middle nursery
The children are having a busy week this week in 2–3’s, with lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities to keep them both entertained and challenged.
Indoors the children have been building creative structures out of the wooden blocks, and seeing how tall or long they can make them; the more adventurous the better! They had lots of fun getting really messy by exploring different textured liquids and foams in the tough tray, and experimenting with various kinds of mark-making tools to see what marks they could make in the liquids. Some children spent time concentrating really hard on improving their fine motor skills by picking up their favourite different coloured animals with the funky fingers’ tweezers.
Outside the children have had the chance to improve their physical development, with the opportunity to practice climbing, jumping and crawling on the fantastic soft play equipment, and to practice their turn taking skills when waiting to crawl through the material tunnel. They have also been enjoying role play activities with the tea set and shopping baskets, browsing along the aisles (flower beds) and choosing what food they wish to take home and cook for their families.
