Preschool and Transition surprise down the lane…

I am sure you may have heard all about it but last week the Preschool and Transition groups went for a walk down the lane and had a wonderful surprise!
Father Christmas’ sleigh had broken down and he was waiting down the lane with his sack full of presents.

The children loved talking to him and telling him how much he looked like Heather!

Later that evening we received this lovely email from one of our parents that sums it up beautifully;

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how excited Hendrix was that he got to meet Santa yesterday. He couldn’t contain himself when coming out of nursery showing both his Dad and I his gift and telling us all about what happened. I just couldn’t resist sharing this bit of Christmas cheer with you all. This is how the story goes…

Hendrix: We went for a walk and Santa was walking down the lane!! He said his sleigh had broken down Mummy. He said that I had been a good boy this year and he gave me a present. Look Mummy! He said I needed to send him a letter and tell him what I want for Christmas. He is going to come down our Chimney Mummy. When Santa’s beard is full he will come that night (referring to his beard advent)

Mummy: oh wow that’s fantastic darling. What colour was Santa’s suit.

Hendrix: Black mummy

Mummy: Are you sure? I thought Santa wore a red suit.

Hendrix: No it was black.

Mummy: Oh ok, well I am sure if Santa has said you have been a good boy then you will indeed get some presents when he comes down the chimney. Has Mummy been a good girl?

Hendrix: Yes mummy and you’re going to get a big big big big present! And Daddy is going to get a big big big big present too.

Mummy: ooooo that’s exciting! Is you’re present going to be big too

Hendrix: No mummy my present will be little like me.

While 2020 has been such a tough year for so many. The magic of Christmas for Hendrix and I’m sure all the other boys and girls could never be dampened and their Christmas spirit is totally infectious. So I just wanted to say thank you to you all at our wonderful nursery who have continued to provide the children with normality, fun and lots of love and care throughout a tough year. We feel very greatful Hendrix gets to be a part of Smarties.
