Settling in! 03/02/10

Gina (one of our middle nursery supervisors) would like to let parents know how well all of the new children have settled in. They have taken to the staff and new routine really well.

If you as Parents feel you would like to know more about what happens in the downstairs part of the middle nursery, keep an eye on the blog and we will regularly update this section with pictures and news.
Remember that a summary of the day is on our notice board in the hallway, or our staff are always happy to share events of the day with you.

Conjuctivitis 03/02/10

We have had several cases of conjunctivitis within the baby unit. It is highly contagious therefore precautions need to be taken to stop it spreading.

Please look out for any symptoms (red, itchy, weeping/discharging eyes) and seek treatment at the first sign of outbreak.

Our policy requires 12 hours of prescribed treatment, at home, before returning to nursery.

What’s happening in the Baby unit? 03/02/10

Hello from the Baby Unit!
We have had a lovely start to the new year with lots of happy smiley babies.

We are updating our treasure baskets at the moment and we would be very grateful for your help.
We are looking for any items, from home, to go in them.

Our treasure baskets are;

Rolling Basket - balls, wheels, etc
Shiny Basket – material, colanders, etc
Wood Basket – spoons, pine cones, etc
Sound of Metal Basket – whisks, spoons, etc
Bathroom Treasure Basket – sponges, rubber ducks, etc
Touch Basket - (tactile items) shiny material, baby brushes etc

Please make sure all items are baby friendly with no sharp or small parts.

SMARTCARE HOLIDAY CLUB

FEBRUARY 2010 HALF TERM HOLIDAY CLUB

Just to let you know that we still have spaces available at our Smartcare Holiday Club for February Half Term at Waverton Village Hall. We are running the holiday club from Monday 15th to Friday 19th February from 8.00am to 6.00pm for children aged 5 to 11 years and everyone is welcome!

If you are looking for a fun venue for your child for the half term holiday or if you are one of the ‘regulars’ who hasn’t yet booked in – then please contact us. You are welcome to email your request if you have lost the form to ‘info@smarties.plus.com’.

Just a reminder that Easter Holiday Club will be running from Monday 29th March to Friday 9th April 2010 (excluding bank holidays) and booking forms will be sent out at the end of February. If you would like to be added to our mailing list please email us.

REQUEST TO PARENTS …

ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS 2010

Sainsbury’s are giving away Active Kids Vouchers when you make purchases at Sainsbury’s stores, petrol stations and online groceries between 17th February and 8th June 2010. We are once again collecting the vouchers to exchange for extra equipment for the nursery.

We would be very grateful if parents would please collect them for us, bring them into nursery and post them into our collection box in the main hall of middle nursery. We collected many thousands of vouchers last year which enabled us to provide the children with a sand pit, soft play equipment and many balls of various types!
